- Take pride of what you do. Be confident about yourself. Once you have understood what is right for you, don’t feel shy to accept it publicly. If you are a vegetarian, be proud of it. If anyone offers you meat, say proudly “I am a vegetarian. I don’t eat meat”.
- Don’t ignore high values of Sikhism. Educate yourself about those.
- Don’t follow Sikh way of life for your parents or for someone else. Follow it for yourself. Its only you who will ultimately benefit from it.

- Avoid both inferiority and superiority complex. Just be yourself and project your high values through your behaviour.
- Sikh way of life is unique. Don’t follow the crowd. If you are not doing something which everyone is doing, this does not mean that you are wrong.
- As a Sikh, your life is complete. You are not missing anything. What you are doing is you are following certain “Do’s and Don’ts”.
- You have best music in the world in the form of Kirtan. No music in the world can compare Kirtan.
- You have best knowledge of “Guru Granth Sahib Ji” to guide you in your life.
- You have power of your hair with you; others just cut their hair to lose it.
- If you don’t eat meat, you are not losing anything. When you have best of vegetarian food in abundance, then why eat meat.
- When you have tough time, you have your Guru to support you; others just wander around in pain.
- You have power of Rehras Sahib with you to cool you down after hard work in the evening.
- You have protection of Sohila Sahib during your sleep. If you die while you are asleep, no messenger of death can take you to the hell.
- You have power of the Jap Ji to give you knowledge of God, universe and yourself.
- You have power of Guru Gobind Singh Ji to win against injustice and tyranny.
- You have power of Simran with you to remain stable in bad time.
As a Sikh, you have wonderful way of life. Be proud of it. Follow this way of life with determination. Don’t follow the crowd. You have to lead, others will follow you.
I know you agree with me, but have problem where to start; what I should do. It’s simple. Start doing Waheguru Simran and practice Gurbani. Guru will Himself guide your way and give you all the powers. To be a Sikh is a rare opportunity, don’t lose it.
